Job description
As a Control-M Engineer you will predominantly be supporting projects across all Nationwide mission areas, making sure we have the right applications configured in the right way to keep our systems performing at their best.
We are looking for an Engineer with experience of Control-M Batch Scheduling – leading on solutions across a range of applications. You will be an experienced, hands-on Engineer who is comfortable working with multiple projects and stakeholders.

For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at our Swindon office. What you’ll be doing
First and foremost, you’ll be an Engineer – a large portion of your time will be spent working with projects to define batch scheduling while developing your technical path and will be required to manage your own day-to-day workloads.
Using your background in Control-M, you’ll be working with other Software Engineers to determine the batch scheduling requirements and build those scripts and implement into pre-production and production environments to support the smooth running of our estate.
About you
As a minimum requirement you will have:
- Previous experience in using Control-M for Batch Scheduling
- Experience with PowerShell
- Engineering of IT solutions to meet business requirements
- Functional and Technical Design knowledge
- Experience in task management and liaising with other team members
- Strong stakeholder management & engagement skills, effective at all levels
- The ability to quickly understand problems and provide root cause analysis and resolution
- Full appreciation of software development lifecycles and knowledge of Agile and DevOps
