Colleague Engagement Manager

As a Colleague Communications and Engagement Manager, you’ll be responsible for designing communication strategies that inform and engage our colleagues. This role sits within our Retail Business Services team, focusing on the 10,000 colleagues that are part of our Retail function. 

As part of this small team, you’ll need to work at pace with passion and creativity to plan and deliver communications across a mix of media, from written messages and presentations to video content, digital channels, and events. The role is hugely varied, requiring you to flex from leadership partnering to supporting priority initiatives across organisational boundaries, such as our Annual Awards. 

We’re looking for an experienced employee communication specialist to join our team. You’ll be a self-motivated individual with a track record of delivering high-profile communications campaigns, alongside excellent planning and prioritisation skills. You’ll bring creative problem-solving, the ability to connect the dots and see the bigger picture, and a collaborative approach that brings stakeholders together to deliver the best outcomes for our colleagues.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work as part of our small team to plan and manage a wide range of employee communications (e.g. campaigns, internal events, webcasts, social channels and video content)  

You’ll shape strategy and delivery plans, using insight about target audience(s) to guide us, as well as a view on industry best practice. And we’re constantly pushing for better, so the successful candidate will bring ideas and enthusiasm to the role, helping drive and deliver change. You’ll do all this in line with our Nationwide brand and tone of voice, creating colleague advocates across the function.
 

About you

• Degree or similar qualification in relevant field or in a role with relevant transferrable skills and experience
• Experience of delivering a wide range of communications campaigns
• A good understanding of marketing, communication and social investment strategy, function, activities, tools and techniques 
• Stakeholder management experience at all levels with strong focus on influencing and collaboration 
• Sound business and commercial acumen, including some experience in developing strong business cases 
• Ability to cut through and find solutions and shape outcomes when working in ambiguity an ability to write and speak clearly and effectively, targeting approach to suit the audience, with experience of report writing and formal presentation creation 
• Excellent planning and organisational skills and ability to manage and own multiple competing priorities and deliverable
