We develop technology and operating systems to meet customers’ needs safely, securely, and at pace.

We deliver the IT capability for Nationwide – both customer and colleague facing.

We manage almost half of Nationwide's operational costs, ensuring efficiency and quality across a wide range of customer and colleague services, including our facilities and buildings, payments, and production of customer letters.

We define the data strategy for Nationwide.

We are future-proofing Nationwide with our tech strategy – simplifying our IT application estate, and improving the digital experience for customers.

Our talented team of 4,000 colleagues is supported by specialist third party teams to deliver our purpose: Banking – but fairer, more rewarding, and for the good of society.

IT Infrastructure & Service Delivery

We design, build and maintain the common infrastructure platforms and technologies used across Nationwide.

Managing the full life cycle of our technology platforms enables us to deliver robust and resilient IT services. 

Data & Functions Technology Delivery

Our team includes Technology Delivery, Customer Experience Platforms, Data & Analytics, Economic Crime, and the Financial Crime Transformation Programme. 

We provide services across Nationwide, transforming technology platforms, delivering data and analytics solutions, and driving data governance. 

Security & Resilience

We’re working to make Nationwide the most trusted brand in banking, protecting our customers’ money and data through privacy, security and resilience.

Our teams include Privacy, Operational Resilience, Major Incident Management, Cyber Security, Security Transformation, and Consultancy and Security Architecture.

Chief Technology Office

We provide technology services for Nationwide’s internal functions. Our teams include Technology Strategy & Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, Technology Architecture & Solution Governance, Cloud & Container platforms, and the Technology Management Office.

We set Nationwide’s technology strategy and operate the central technology governance processes. We also set the future technology we need to deliver our purpose. 

Chief Controls Office

We enable understanding and strengthening of Nationwide’s control environment to deliver good customer outcomes.

Our teams are made up of Practice Office, Controls Testing, Customer Outcomes Assurance and the Risk Partnering team for our Finance and Legal & Secretariat teams. 

Customer Technology

Customer Technology is responsible for core systems and channels that power Nationwide. We keep them running smoothly and continuously improve them to better serve our customers.

We make sure our technology provides a reliable and consistent service around the clock. We’re continuously raising standards and transforming the technology we offer.

Digital & Integration

We’re responsible for our core digital channels, including Nationwide’s mobile app and internet banking, middleware estate and our cloud platforms.  

Our team’s focus is enriching and improving our customer’s digital experience with new capabilities and improved performance and resilience.

Payments

We do more than just process payments. We help our members spend, save and borrow for the things that matter most, whether it’s everyday purchases or big life moments. We operate 24/7, to ensure our members can make their payments both online and in person, quickly and securely.

We make sure that our workplace runs smoothly. We keep things moving, including Nationwide properties and workspaces, mail and logistical services, and ethical and sustainable supplier partnership management.
