We’re owned by our members, not shareholders. That’s anyone who banks, saves or has a mortgage with us. Which means we can always focus on what’s best for them. It’s our fundamental difference.

In 2025 we made our third Nationwide Fairer Share Payment to over four million of our members. We will have paid out over £1 billion to eligible members since 2023.

We are rated the UK’s best high street banking provider for customer satisfaction in the building society and banking sector*. We are also proud to be Which? Best Banking Brand of the Year 2025.  

We know that our customers still value speaking face-to-face, that’s why we have the UKs biggest branch network – and we’re committed to keeping every one of our branches open until at least the start of 2028**.

We have promised to keep every one of our branches open until at least the start of 2028. There may be circumstances outside of our control that mean we have to close a branch. But we will only do this if we don’t have another workable option**.
