If, following your interview, you are offered a role at Nationwide, as part of the offer process, you will be asked to provide evidence of one document from each section below, unless your legal right-to-work documentation covers the identity requirements too. Right to work documents

Online check

If you are a non-UK/Irish citizen, you can generate a share code via gov.uk - prove your right to work to an employer to prove your right to work status. Once we’ve run this, we will conduct a quick video call with you to verify this document. You will typically be able to use this service if you have a visa.

Digital identity service

If you hold an in-date UK/Irish passport/passport card, you will be able to digitally verify your identity as part of our screening checks – you will receive full information on how to do this. It is important that this check is completed as soon as it has been requested from you. Once complete, we will conduct a quick video call with you to complete verification.

Manual check

If you are unable to use the online right-to-work service or the digital identity service, then we will need you to take your right-to-work document(s), along with your proof of address and ID, into one of our branches for a member of the Nationwide team to take a photocopy of these and verify them with you.

Please use list A or B on the Employers' right to work checklist for a list of acceptable documents.
